General comments
Onderhoudsdosering vancomycine afhankelijk van gemeten spiegels en van nierfunctie, zie bij vancomycine en bij TDM vancomycine
E. faecalis is meestal amoxicilline-gevoelig, E. faecium is gewoonlijk amoxicilline-ongevoelig.
Bij ernstige enterokokken infecties, bv bij een endocarditis, de combinatie amoxicilline + gentamicine geven; deze combinatie werkt doorgaans synergistisch indien de MIC voor gentamicine < 500 is.
